Private Music Instruction

Learning music takes time. Learning to play piano or learning to sing better is an ongoing commitment. Registering for lessons should be considered a commitment. Every student’s goals and abilities are different, so there is no way to say how long it will take to reach the student’s goals. Ms. Donita will discuss goals and assess skills at the beginning of lessons in order to develop a plan for the student’s lessons.

Piano Lessons

Ms. Donita accepts students from age 6 to adult for piano lessons. Each student is scheduled for one 30-minute private lesson per week (same day & time each week). Piano instruction includes learning to read music and learning proper playing technique.

I typically recommend starting piano no earlier than about six or seven. That is the stage where key factors such as manual dexterity, reading ability, and attention span have developed to the point where the student has the best opportunity for success.
